Site Survery

The office renovation is currently underway, most of the works are being carried out by the on site team. Some of the works (Including the heating in this case) are being contracted out to specalists in order to give a professional and guaranteed finish. From a heating (and cooling) point of view it was determined that 2 x 6kw units would serve the area, 2 x cassette type units were quoted and subsequently approved.

Twin system

With a standard split type system there is control of heating and cooling independently for the room in question. This twin system has a refrigerant branch set that sends refrigerant to both indoors when the demand for heating or cooling is requested at the controller. The indoors are set as master and slave, with the master being connected to the remote controller and the temperature determined in that zone. With both units acting together the areas will be controlled simultaneously and will prevent over working if there were independent split type units.

System Selection

Although with air conditioning its often expected there will be a box on the wall near to the ceiling with one outlet blowing in just one direction this can often cause draught complaints, particularly in constantly occupied areas such as offices. With that in mind and where the budget allows its always best to select a system with a better air distribution. The cassette units are ideal for this, another alternative would be a ducted type system, both have their merits.

Installation

The compact cassette units fit snugly in a 600 x 600 square, which means when the office utilises ceiling grid with 600 x 600 ceiling tiles its just a case of removing one tile to mount and position the cassette in its place, leaving a tidy finish. The outdoor unit positioned outside in a busy area has protective bollards installed by both corners to draw attention and protect from slow moving nearby vehicles.
