March 2026 Leicester Close Control System service
Some air conditioning systems are designed to manage the temperature of enormous areas, in this case a storage area for stock which requires strict temperature regulation. These Close control systems are capable of maintaining temperature aswell as humidity by utilising vapour bottles to add moisture to the air, or running a cooling cycle to reduce humidity.
Initial Assessment
The Denco system is in alarm, showing air flow failure. Inspection revealed the air filters are clogged with dust and require replacement, also 1 of the 2 motors has snapped its belts. We isolated the motor without belts to allow continued (although limited) operation whilst spares were ordered.
Refrigeration systems
This system, like all refrigeration systems has its basic fundamental components of which there are 4, compressors pushing vapour into the condenser coil, vapour then changing state to a liquid passing through the metering device, cold liquid entering the evaporator and picking up heat from the room, then back to start the cycle again. For the most part other components are bells, whistles and safety.
Servicing
For each of these changes to happen at the very least the coils need to be clear of debris / dust/ leaves etc. To achieve this we use a variety of tools in our arsenal, from simple brushes to Jet washes. The goal is to achieve maximum are flow over the coils, in the case of the Denco it will regulate its high pressure to balance its subcool temp, although technical jargon this translates to increased efficiency, so lower electric bills. A sight glass will give us an idea of the state of the refrigerant flowing through, a clear sight glass indicating almost 100% liquid is the aim, anything else raises questions, gas shortage? Restriction? Contamination?
F Gas requirements / leak checking
Leak checking with the electronic detector across common leakage areas raised question on the Rotalock to the compressor, these are simple to tighten and rectify any leaks, performance needs to be checked to determine if the amount lost is detrimental and requires further works.
Looking for Commercial refrigeration Servicing?
A good indication if there is a problem with your system is when you ask yourself “does this seem as cold as normal?” The answer is most likely no, so it is time to have it checked and serviced to maintain optimum efficiency and compliance.
